This collection of ten short illustrated folk stories and accompanying activities is the product of work by Ashraf Kuhail and his team of teachers in Gaza as they helped children keep up their English education - and, as best they could, their spirits - during 18 months of constant bombardment and displacement from October 2023 to March 2025.

Underpinning the book is a belief in storytelling as a motivating and effective language learning tool. Many of the stories are Middle Eastern in origin but all contain universal values. The stories and the activities around them are written to suit a wide range of learners and learning environments.
